Duo Suonante is represented by Ms. Katrine Dyrehauge Roos, soprano singer, and Mr. Lars Hedelius-Strikkertsen., guitar player.

 Their common interest in the music from the nineteenth century has formed the basis of the successful collaboration of Katrine and Lars in Duo Suonante.

 At the beginning of the nineteenth century making music and giving musical soirées (arrangements of social gathering in the evening, esp. for music) came into fashion in the private homes of middle-class/bourgeois citizens and the aristocracy. In this context the guitar player became a popular performer.

 Having visited the opera, people were eager to sing and play all the well-known opera hits. That is the reason why we can find a wide-ranging repertoire consisting of these very hits rearranged for the guitar.( netop disse)

 To promote the above mentioned artistic activities, songs, ‘lieder’, and ballads were composed, compositions which were accompanied by the guitar player.

 These more or less well-known songs in Danish and in foreign languages are now made come alive by Duo Suonante.
